What Do You Put in a Weekly BUJO Spread?

In a weekly spread, you write down your daily to-dos or your week at glance. Things that you have to complete that week or reminders that cannot be missed. You can make it as simple or as complex as you like! For example, on the left side of the page, you can draw your whole week (Monday to Sunday). On the right side of the page, you can write daily tasks, reminders, purchases you need to make, a class schedule, or a gratitude log.

Look at the spread below, notice how there are days of the week on one side but on the edge of the planner, nohnoh.studies, added a habit tracker, sleep tracker, and notes section. A weekly spread is your way of keeping track of what needs to be done during the week.

Don’t be afraid to create unique spreads! The spread below is called a dutch-door. A portion of the page was cut off to create a door effect. On the dutch-door, you can draw a weekly schedule for your classes or a simple meal plan for the week. My goal with this blog post is to show you that you can create a weekly spread any way you like!

There is no right or wrong way of bullet journaling. Create spreads that will help you stay on top of your goals!

Cute Weekly Bullet Journal Spreads

Let’s start with a couple of beautiful spreads to spice up your planner! Use a pen to create a rough sketch of the butterflies. Once you are happy with the way the butterflies look use a black pen or marker to trace over the sketch.

Google is your best friend! You can find a ton of “how to draw butterflies” tutorials. Choose one or two and start drawing them on your bullet journal. Don’t be afraid if the sketch does not look exactly like the tutorial. The more you practice, the better you will get. Plus bullet journaling is all about having fun!

Don’t try to make the butterflies perfect, the beauty of bullet journaling is making mistakes. Over time your artistic skills and confidence will improve. You will look back at your old spreads and amaze yourself with how much your drawings have improved.

Adding Doodles to a Weekly Spread Layout

There is nothing more satisfying than adding doodles and washi tape to a simple bullet journal layout. You can take a simple weekly spread and make it into a work of art by adding a little bit of color. The following spreads are from seed_successful_you. Her designs are one of my favorites!

I love how she keeps the spreads simple but adds details by adding drawings and creative titles on the pages.

You don’t need to worry about making the drawings look symmetrical or perfect. Focus on the colors. Find 3 or 4 colors that blend together and start tracing on the blank pages of your planner.

Minimalist Bullet Journal Weekly Spreads

Minimalist weekly spreads have a lot of advantages over traditional spreads. They are simple and easy to follow, which makes them perfect for people who are just starting out with bullet journaling. They also take up very little space, so you can use them even if you have a limited amount of journaling space.

Additionally, minimalist weekly spreads are very versatile and can be used for a variety of different purposes. For example, you can use them to track your to-do list, your daily tasks, your schedule, or your appointments.

An easy way to recreate this cool watercolor effect is by drawing a couple of random clouds on a Ziploc sandwich plastic bag.

  1. Use the Tombow Dual Brush pens to create different patterns on the plastic bag.
  2. Spray some water on top of the pattern
  3. Gently press the plastic bag on your bullet journal
  4. Lift the bag to reveal the beautiful color effect on your planner!

You may want to cover the pages you don’t want to stain with another plastic bag,

Elaborate Weekly Spread Layouts

There are infinite ways to create weekly spreads in your bullet journal. You can keep it simple with just a few squares for each day, or you can get more elaborate and add multiple columns and rows, as well as decorative elements. Some people even include a monthly calendar alongside their weekly layout.

I know I have said this before, but people tend to focus too much on a fancy spread and forget the real meaning behind a weekly spread. A weekly spread has the power to keep you accountable for the things that must get done during the week.

No matter what type of layout you choose, the most important thing is to make sure that it works for you! Try creating different layouts until you find one that is easy to use and helps you stay organized. You may want to experiment with different colors and fonts to make your spreads more visually appealing.

A bujo weekly spread can be extremely helpful for keeping track of upcoming events, tasks, and appointments. By having all of this information in one place, it is easy to get an overview of what is coming up in the week and to plan ahead.

Additionally, a bujo weekly spread can help to stay organized and productive. Let me know in the comment section what other spreads you would like to see! ♡
