I decided to write this article because many new bloggers were struggling to create their presence on Pinterest and don’t know how to make their pins go wild with Tailwind or BoardBooster. Here is a quick an easy tutorial to teach you how to use BoardBooster to get pinterest followers and repins.
Tailwind is awesome, but it is extremely time-consuming. I either did my biochemistry and Physics homework or I played with Tailwind to schedule my pins. I always had a hard time choosing which pins to schedule on specific boards because I thought all my pins were great!
One thing I loved about Tailwind is that it actually helped me increase my Pinterest followers. I used to get about 20 followers every day, but when I started using Tailwind my followers increased to 40. I was really happy with Tailwind, but I didn’t want to waste 1 or 2 hours a day scheduling my pins. I knew I wanted to keep the simplicity and efficiency of BoardBooster, so I started playing around with my boards and my pinning schedules. After 4 days, I went from 40 followers to 130+ followers every single day.
Something I have learned from others succesful bloggers is that if you find a way to be successful at something, share it! Share it so other can be successful too.

1. Organize Your Pinterest Account
The first thing you should do is organize your Pinterest profile and boards. Click here to set up your Pinterest profile to be successful.
If you have been using BoardBooster for a while, it tracks the best times for your pins.
- Reports > best time to pin:
Check which boards perform better in the morning and which boards perform better in the afternoon. After you have checked and organized your AM and PM board, you can start creating campings.
From this screenshot, I know that my pins perform better between 10 AM and 10 PM.
I setup a camping for my AM pins (10 am – 1:30 pm) and another camping in the afternoon (2:30 – 10 pm). This ensures that I’m not spamming all my grouop boards with the same pin and that my pins have enough time to be seen and repinned.
This trick is the one that tripled my following and blog views. Different pins were distributed among different group boards and more people were seen them.
2. Setting up your pins on BoosterBoard
You should already have secret boards organized with all your pins ready to go!
- Go to BoardBooster > On the top right, click on the option for “pinning tools” > Campaigns.
Click on the new campaign option:
A window with two options will pop-up, it gives you two options: Random and Schedule Campaign.
- Schedule Campaign: you set up specific times to send your pins.
- Random Campaign: This is my favorite and preferred way.
3. Setting up a random Campaign
Click on the random campaign option. Name the campaign, I suggest that you name it the same as the secret board (source board) that you created on Pinterest.
Scroll to the bottom and click on the “Refresh Boards” option. This ensures that BoardBooster will show your latest boards and changes.
Wait for BoardBooster to load and refresh all your content.
When the refresh part is over: source board > add board. You will see a window with all your boards:
Scroll/ look for the secret board that you created (the secret board that you are going to use for that campaign).
Now, you are going to select the boards that you want those secret pins to be distributed to.
Before you schedule 3 or 4 pins, go check the group board. For group boards that have a lot of followers you can choose 3 or 4 pins per day (make sure you read the group board rules, some of them only allow 3 pins per day). 3 of your pins and 1 pin from another blogger.
I have campaigns only for my pins and other campaigns for pins from other bloggers.
NOTE: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU SCROLL DOWN!
The time section on BoosterBoard is sensible to trackpads, which means that if you accidentally scroll down too fast, it will change the time of your pins. It makes a big difference! Double check before you click save.
Click save and you are done!
As your pins get distributed over time, check you boards performace. If you have a good repin rate keep those board. I your repin rate is low in other board, leave them! You are wasting you time.
The awesome thing about secret boards is that all the pins that you add to it will stay there. This is great because over time you will join more group boards. You can go back to BoardBooster and add that new group to the list and the pins from that board will be distributed to that new board.
4. Pin Other Blogger’s pins!
Pinterest likes it or will be more beneficial to you when you pin and repin other blogger’s content. For example, my blog is mostly about bullet journaling. I joined 5 different group boards about bullet journaling and I use BoardBooster to pin about 3 pins from by bullet journal board to each group board. When people see your pins daily they are more likely to follow you either because Pinterest recommends one of your boards base on what they pin or because they click on your profile and like what you have to offer. When people see your pins daily they are more likely to follow you either because Pinterest recommends one of your boards base on what they pin or because they click on your profile and like what you have to offer. I gain about 25 new followers every day. Every month I gain a total of 100 new followers. There you go! Those are all the tips and tricks I have been using to increase my blog’s exposure on Pinterest.
